YWC is pleased to join with the tenors and basses of Ragazzi Boys Chorus this coming March for a very special program. The 75-voiced mixed choir, a combination of voices of the Bay Area’s two great youth choirs, will perform classic works with string orchestra under the direction of Maestro Vance George. Music by Giovanni Martini, Gabriel Fauré, and Leonard Bernstein will be featured.
YWC is honored to appear as guest artists on a set of concerts with Clerestory, the Bay Area’s acclaimed 9-man vocal ensemble. Inspired by a Dr. Seuss painting and poem, Clerestory founder Jesse Antin will offer the world premiere of his A Prayer for a Child. The men and young women will sing folk songs from around the world, as well as pieces composed on themes of play, animals, trees, trains, and much more. This family-friendly concert will delight and inspire the child in each listener; we hope to see you for this special Mother’s Day weekend event.
From the Bay to Broadway sends the YWC off on our tour to New York City in June 2014. Expect music from Bay Area composers as well as Broadway selections.
