Our Board & Artistic Advisory Board

Board of Directors

Tamara Hicks, President: Dr. Tamara Hicks is a Clinical Psychologist and co-founder of Potrero Hill Psychotherapy. She has extensive experience with the non-profit sector and was a trustee on the boards at The San Francisco School, Family Service Agency-San Francisco and The Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation.

Jeff Hord, Vice President: Jeff is a retired investment professional and serves as Vice President for YWCP in addition to being the Chair of the Finance Committee. Jeff also serves on the board of The San Francisco School and is the Chair of the organizations Investment Committee and Chair of their Financial Sustainability Committee. In addition to his current philanthropic work, Jeff has over 20 years of finance and entrepreneurial experience that he brings with him to YWCP.

Martha Daetwyler, Secretary: Martha is an attorney with the firm of Leland, Parachini, Steinberg, Matzger and Melnick in San Francisco, and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration. Martha also works with non-profit organizations regarding corporate matters and non-profit status. Martha is currently a director of New Resource Bank and RSF Social Finance.

James Dowd, Treasurer: James is President of North Capital Inc., an investment management company based in San Francisco. He is a former trustee of the Chinese American International School and the National Center for International Schools, and a member of the advisory board for the Lend-a-Hand Foundation.

Mahala Bundy: Mahala is a Kindergarten through eighth grade music teacher and choral director at Synergy School, an independent non-profit, in San Francisco. She currently serves on its board. For ten years, she served on the board of the Northern California Chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. The focus of her career has been to promote and provide music education in a progressive environment responsive to students’ individual needs.

Anne Heminger: Anne is a musicologist and choral singer who began singing at the age of seven in the adult choir at her church. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and recently completed an MPhil in Musicology at Cambridge University as a Gates Scholar. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Michigan.

Sara Hendrickson: Sara is a financial and strategic adviser to Bay Area non-profit organizations, has served on numerous educational and arts organization boards, and is currently Board President of the San Francisco Education Fund, the non-profit partner to the San Francisco Unified School District. Sara was previously Founder and General Partner of Shad Run Investments, L.P., a venture capital investment fund, and a Director at Merrill Lynch in the investment banking department in New York City for 10 years.

John Sebastian: John retired from Chevron in 1997 as a vice president in the downstream technology company. He has served in leadership roles in several community, arts and church organizations and served on the board of the San Francisco Girls Chorus. He is an insatiable reader of geology books.
