ORGANIZATIONThe Young Women’s Choral Projects of San Francisco, Susan McMane, Artistic Director, seeks a piano accompanist for its training chorus, Prelude. The Young Women’s Choral Projects (YWCP) of San Francisco is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of young women through exceptional artistry in choral performance and bring the expressive power of their music to the community, the nation, and the world.
YWCP is adding Prelude Chorus this season for girls in 2nd through 7th grade with no previous music training. The organization has two other ensembles, Allegro Chorus, an intermediate group, and the Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco, a challenging, advanced young women's chorus.
DUTIES• Regular accompanist for Prelude, a training chorus of YWCP• Accompany rehearsals on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, 4:30-5:30pm in San Francisco• Accompany up to 2 concerts in the Bay Area during the 2014-2015 season (September-May)
SKILLS NEEDED• Love of children and helping them discover the joys of music• Ability to read 2-part treble music in open score• Ability to play medium to difficult accompaniments• Rehearsal and performance accompanying experience needed• Ability and desire to help with music theory in break-out groups during rehearsals• Kodály training a plus
START DATE: Sunday, September 7, 2014
SALARY: Rehearsals $40/hour, Performances $150 each
